So yesterday he texted me stating that he wants to have these guys remove the tree and wants me to pay half. Years ago I was helping my plumber replace a sewer line, (I have the backhoe). It was full of tree roots. So as we are digging the trench we are tearing the hell out of the tree roots of the neighbors trees. The neighbor gets pissed saying we are going to kill his trees.
My plumber buddy hands him a copy of the laws regarding this.
