Contact Rob Dietsch, [email protected] for this hard to find tool for front-drive Volvos. Factory special tool, part number Jan 08, This normally means taking your Volvo to the dealer as the factory tool is very expensive. Now available at an affordable do it yourself price, this tool is built specifically to extract and install the lower rear trailing arm bushing on all and series Volvos Sep 27, You really don't need the tool for this (unless you already purchased it).
Why is it that the bushing that fails the most often on the series suspension is the one that requires a special tool to service?
With the correct size hole saw you can remove a bushing in under a minute. Once the core is out it's relatively easy to collapse the remaining part of the bushing and pull it out.
The hardest part is installing the new bushings, which is explained in the link I provided above. tool does not require mounting plates to be removed for either removal or fitting. Using a specially developed force frame and coarse-pitch force screw, the bush tool provides an engineered solution that saves significant time and removes the need to use a workshop press.
